Giuseppe Firrao, Jr.

Giuseppe Firrao ( born July 20, 1736, in Fagnano Castello, † January 24, 1830 in Naples) was an Italian cardinal.

Life

He was in Fagnano Castello (Calabria ), the son of Pier Maria Firrao, Prince of Sant'Agata and Luzi, and Livia Grillo di Agapito, Duchess of Mondragone and Countess of Carinola born. He studied in Naples, moved to the study of the humanities to the Collegio Nazareno and was later a doctorate in canon and civil law at the University La Sapienza. He received in the period 1775-1782 the Low harriers and on 16 March 1782, the ordination.

Pius VII appointed him in the consistory of 23 February 1801 Cardinal Priest of St. Eusebio. In the period 1802-1803 he was treasurer of the Holy College of Cardinals. He took part in the conclave in 1823 and the next conclave in 1829.

The Cardinal died at the age of 93 years in Naples and is buried in the cathedral of the Archdiocese of Naples Maria Santissima Assunta.
