Glass Hammer

Glass Hammer is an American progressive rock group that was founded in 1992 by the two multi-instrumentalists Steve Babb and Fred Schendel in Chattanooga (Tennessee).

Style

The musical style of the group strongly influenced by Yes, Kansas, Emerson, Lake & Palmer and Genesis, supported by the collaboration of Roger Dean, who knew several plates of the band with cover illustrations (The Inconsolable Secret, If, Cor Cordium ).

Were particularly clearly the influence of these models on the album Chronometree of 2000, which ties almost seamlessly to the sound of Yes and ELP works from the early 1970s. The texts of Glass Hammer often deal with scenarios of fantasy literature as well as with religious themes. Treated in this way about the concept album Lex Rex of 2002, the meeting of a Roman soldier with Jesus Christ.

For the album Culture of Ascent Yes frontman Jon Anderson was recruited as guest musicians.
