Gmina Tuplice

Tuplice ( German Teuplitz ) is a town on the Polish Lubusz Voivodeship in powiat Żarski, about 12 kilometers southeast of Forestry, with nearly 3,300 inhabitants, of whom about 1,500 live in the main town of the same name. The majority of the community belongs to the Polish part of Lower Lusatia.

History

By 1945 Teuplitz belonged to the Brandenburg district Sorau. 1933, the municipality had 1,381 inhabitants, whose number rose to 1,409 by 1939. 1945, the site was partially destroyed. Since 1815, Teuplitz belonged to Prussia. It created a glassworks and brickworks. The Railroads Cottbus- Sorau and Muskau -Sommerfeld made ​​the city an important rail hub in Lower Lusatia. After the takeover by the Polish administration of the place lost its importance.
