The Goldbach is a creek in the Bavarian Spessart, which flows from the right in the Aschaff on the eastern edge of the urban area of Aschaffenburg. His artificially created underflow in the floodplain means Flutgraben.
Name
The name Goldbach goes back to the yellow Lößerde that the Goldbach turned yellow during heavy rains. He gave the place its name Goldbach.
Geography
Course
The Goldbach springs southwest of Unterafferbach on Grauenstein (308 m above sea level. NN ). It flows to the southeast at first accompanied by steep slopes in the forest by the cherry dip, then passing the forest swimming pool next to the main street of the valley below to the center of the village Goldbach. Within the village it is completely assembled. After the end of the piping of the Goldbach led earlier by about 200 m across whose right Aue in the Aschaff.
Today, however, he bends here just before the B 26 to the west, and to contribute to the new parallel drive to Aschaff the name Flutgraben. This 1.4 km long underflow was dug in 1923 as a right- arm part of Aschaff to derive their high water; a combination of these consists ago but not anymore. The Flutgraben initially runs alongside newer commercial large buildings and continues down the western edge of the village development Goldbach, just now on Aschaffenburg town area of the right Klingenbachstrasse on. He then crosses under today a few steps before the underpass of the Dammer road under the A 3 this yourself and flows immediately beyond right into Aschaff.
Catchment area
The Goldbach drains an area on the right slope of the Aschafftales of about 3.9 km ². It extends from the peak of 308 m above sea level. NN high Grauenstein in the north- north-west, at the same time the highest point of the catchment area, about 2 ½ miles south-southwest according to the left bank of the lower reaches aschaffparallelen Flutgraben; transversely to the extension at the widest point reached just over 2 km. The lowest point lies at the mouth to slightly below 129 m above sea level. NN.
In the north and east of the catchment area of Aschaff influx Hösbachs borders, where most of its right tributary Afferbach competes in the West of the smooth stream, which reaches below the Aschaff.
