The Goldendoodle is a hybrid dog from the United States, resulting from crosses between Golden Retriever and Poodle. The name Goldendoodle is made up of three parts: " Golden " ( Golden Retriever) and " oodle "; together (from English poodle for poodle ); the letter " d " is an analogy for the Labradoodle.

The Goldendoodle is not a breed of dog in the proper sense, and is therefore not recognized by the FCI or another canine larger organization.

Origin and History

Goldendoodles are bred in North America since about the late 1990s. Today, there are more farms, for example in Australia and Europe. Background was - similar to the Labradoodle - the cultivation of a " non-allergenic " dog, which is more easily digestible for people with pet allergies. Studies on the coat of this dog could not confirm this claim, however: the amount of allergen in the fur of Goldendoodles does not differ from that in the fur of other dogs.

Description

It will be carried out both crosses between Golden Retriever and Standard Poodle ("Standard" ) and crosses between Golden Retriever and Toy Poodle ( " thumbnail "). There are different types of breeding Goldendoodles that are referred to as F1, F1B and F2B. An F1 dog comes from a cross between a Golden Retriever and Poodle, F1B a Dog a cross between an F1 dog with a poodle or a golden retriever, and a F2B dog a cross between two F1B dogs.

Sanitary

When Goldendoodle a genetic predisposition to progressive retinal atrophy ( PRA) is described, which is inherited as an autosomal recessive and simply due to a mutation of PRCD gene. A genetic test is available.

Found in the literature as case reports also evidence caused by mutations in the Cox -2 gene dominant renal dysplasia and idiopathic chylothorax.
