Goldingen

Gold rings until December 31, 2012, a former municipality in the electoral district of See-Gaster in the canton of St. Gallen. On January 1, 2013, it merged with Eschenbach and Rüeterswil the new community Eschenbach.

Geography

Gold rings located about 5 km east of Wald ZH and 6 km north-east from Lake Zurich. The community consisted of the villages of gold rings and Hintergoldigen and numerous hamlets and isolated farmsteads. In the northeast of the community is the Atzmännig, a popular destination with a toboggan run and ski lifts, which can be reached from Goldingertal by a chairlift.
