Goodwill Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu

Goodwill Zwelethini kaBhekuzulu (* July 14, 1948 in Nongoma ) is according to the South African Constitution king of the Zulu. The role of the king is largely ceremonial, he does not exercise any political power but is subordinate to the Prime Minister of the province of KwaZulu -Natal.

Zwelithini in 1968 but used after the death of his father Cyprian Bhekuzulu kaSolomon to the king, after his 21st birthday in a traditional ceremony in the presence of 20,000 Zulu in December 1971 in Nongoma as an eighth king. Until his enthronement Prince Israel Mcwayizeni KaSolomon served as Regent, Zwelithini took during this time for fear of assassination refuge on St. Helena.

1994 broke the king with Mangosuthu Buthelezi, a relative and leader of the Zulu Inkatha Freedom Party party. Ahead there was rioting between supporters of Buthelezi and Zwelethinis at the annual memorial service in honor of Shaka. During a visit to Nelson Mandela's party members stormed the royal residence, whereupon the king with security forces left the palace and was flown to Johannesburg.

2007 Zwelethini was criticized for asking for a new Mercedes -Benz S 600 worth of one million Rand after he had bought six Mercedes -Benz E-Class is worth two million rand in December 2006 his wives.

Zwelithini has six wives and 27 children.
