Górne, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship

Górne ( German Gurnen ) is a city in the northeast of the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and is part of the gmina (Town ) Gołdap ( Goldap ) in Gołdapski powiat ( county Goldap ).

Geographical location

Górne located ten kilometers southwest of the city Gołdap ( Goldap ) and is of Regiele ( Regellen, 1938-1945 Glaubitz ) to achieve the national road 65 from two kilometers. In addition, a side street of Botkuny (Butt Kuhnen, 1938-1945 Bodenhausen ) leads to the voivodeship 651 on Kolniszki ( Collmischken, 1938-1945 castle field ) directly into the site. A rail connection no longer exists, since the PKP line 41 has been closed from Elk ( Lyck ) about Olecko ( Treuburg ) to Gołdap 1993 for passenger and for freight transport since 2002.

History

The small estate village was called at that time Gurnen eponymous on March 18, 1874 Location for the newly established office district Gurnen, which existed until 1945 and belonged to the district Goldap in the district of the Prussian province of East Prussia Gumbinnen.

In 1910, the Gutsbezirk Gurnen counted 225 inhabitants. Gurnen came in 1945 as a result of World War II to Poland and received the Polish name " Górne ". District Gurnen (1874-1945)

Three municipalities reclassified in the District Gurnen: On January 1, 1939 from the District Rogainen ( Rogajmy today Polish): Mörleinstal (until 1938 Marli Owen, Polish: Marlinowo ) Scharnen (until 1938 Czarnen, Polish: Czarne ) and Summau (until 1938 Summowen, Polish: Sumowo ). Church

Church building

Already in 1566 has been prescribed in Gurnen church land. The first church building was made in 1574 bis 1581st It was the oldest church in the district Goldap. Between 1612 and 1617, the church has undergone a fundamental transformation.

In the mid-19th century the church was so damaged that the tower had to be demolished and a reconstruction was made. The church was now prepared fieldstone in the Romanesque style without a tower.

In January 1945 the church was plugged after withdrawal of the Soviet troops in fire and is now only perceive as a ruin in place.

Parish

The vast majority of the inhabitants Gurner was until 1945 a Protestant denomination. Gurnen was a wide -area, 13 villages counted parish with about 2,800 last church members since 1612 Pfarrsdorf. It belonged to the church district Goldap in the ecclesiastical province of East Prussia the Church of the Old Prussian Union.

Because of flight and expulsion of the German population, the number of Protestant church members dropped close to zero.
