Gossa is a district of the municipality Muldestausee district Anhalt-Bitterfeld in Saxony- Anhalt.

Until the formation of the unified community Muldestausee on 1 January 2010 Gossa was an independent municipality in the administrative community Muldestausee pain creek. Last Mayor of Gossa was Waldemar Dombek.

Geography

Gossa with the hamlet of pain is between Dessau and Leipzig on the edge of Duebener Heath.

The coat of arms was designed by Jörg Kommunalheraldiker Mantzsch in 1992 and led to the approval process. It reflects the etymological reference to the Slavic name of both districts: So altsorbisch mean Gossa ( spelling " gosov ") = blackbird; Pain ( spelling " smards ") = spruce. In 1435 's the spelling of Gossa = " gossaw " in 1456 by pain = " smorcz ".

Structures

The village church was built in the Romanesque style. It is equipped with an organ of the famous organ builder Johann Andreas Zuber beer. And situated in pain manor was based in Altpouch line of the Counts of Solms- Sonnenwalde.
