  • In Stockholm he went in the high jump, pentathlon and decathlon at the start. In the high jump, he missed with skipped 1.60 m, the required qualification height of 1.83 m clear.
  • In the pentathlon, it was for him quite fair. He managed in the discus 31.78 m, about 200 m 24.0 s and in the javelin 45.46 meters and was one of the twelve athletes who were allowed to continue the competition with the fourth discipline. But then he came in the long jump does not go beyond 6.02 m and dropped to twelfth place. However, since only the top six athletes were admitted for the final 1500 - meter race, he had to retire from the competition and came in the overall standings in eighth place.

Decades later Thorpe was rehabilitated and declared together with Wieslander an Olympic champion. The rankings remained unaffected by this decision; Lomberg and Holmér allowed to keep their silver and bronze medals.
  • In the hurdles he had the misfortune of having to start in by far the most populated advance - even the runner-up was 15.4 s faster than the winner of the remaining five races. Holmér finished third and was eliminated with it.
  • In the decathlon, he came again in fourth place behind Norwegian Helge Lövland, the American Brutus Hamilton and the Swede Bertil Ohlson. His achievements: 100 m 11.8 s, long jump 5.92 meters, shot put 11.06 meters, high jump 1,70 m, 400 m 56.5 s, 16.6 s 110m hurdles, discus 34.82 m, pole vault 3.20 m, discus 47.62 m and 1500 m 5:01,6 min.
