The airport Kiev Gostomel ( Ukr: Antonov аеропорт or Аеропорт Гостомель ), formerly known as Hostomel airport, an international freight and business airport near Hostomel, a small suburb about 20 km from Kiev is located in Ukraine. The airport itself is removed each north-west, 5 km from Hostomel and 26 km from Kiev and serves as a hub for the Antonov Airlines. He is also a very important German Experimental Institute for Aviation and is operated by the Antonov Design Bureau ( ANTK Antonov ).

Other airports nearby include the airport Boryspil, which is primarily intended for passenger traffic, and the airport Zhulyany, which is smaller than the Boryspil airport.

The only Antonov An-225, the largest aircraft in the world, stationed in Hostomel.

Location and Transport

The airport is located 26 km north-west of Kiev. From there you can reach it by taxi, bus, trolleybus and other transport means. A direct metro station of the Kiev Metro does not exist, however.
