Gourma Province

Gourmand is a province in the east of the West African country of Burkina Faso, within the Est region with the Capital Fada N'Gourma. As part of the reallocation of administrative units on 24 April 1996, the province Gourmand was significantly reduced by formation of new provinces Komondjari, Kompienga and Koulpélogo. Its population is 314,169 ( 2006 census ), mainly members of the Gourmantché.
