Governor General's Awards

The Governor General's Award (French Prix du Gouverneur général) is the most prestigious literary award in Canada, donated in 1937 by Governor General Lord Tweedsmuir. Since 1957, the Awards are awarded in different categories for their outstanding and significant literary achievements both in English and in French ( Governor General's Literary Awards) from the Canada Council for the Arts.
