Govindasamy Saravanan

Govindasamy Saravanan ( born May 15, 1970) is a former Malaysian walkers.

In 1995 he won at the Asian Championships in Athletics in Jakarta bronze in the 20,000 m walk.

In 1997, he won km Walk at the South East Asia Games in Jakarta on 50. About the same distance he celebrated the following year, his greatest success when he in 1998 in Kuala Lumpur won the first athletics gold medal in the history of these games for Malaysia at the Commonwealth Games. He benefited from the fact, however, that the leading with big lead Neeseeländer Craig Barrett collapsed dehydrated just before the finish and requiring medical attention.

In 2001 he succeeded in the South East Asia Games in Kuala Lumpur, another victory in the 50 km walk.
