Granges ( Veveyse ) (? Freiburg Patois Grandze / i ) is a municipality in the district Veveyse ( German: Vivisbachbezirk ) of the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland.

Geography

Granges ( Veveyse ) lies at 753 m above sea level. M., 7 km north of Vevey ( straight line ). The village stretches a scenic location on a ridge on the northern edge of the ridge of the Mont Pelerin, west of the Valley of Biorde, the southernmost tip of Fribourg Mittelland.

With 843 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) Granges ( Veveyse) is one of the smaller communities of the Canton of Fribourg. History

The municipality of Granges ( Veveyse ) was probably inhabited in Roman times, as it was on the trade route from Aventicum ( Avenches ) to Vevey. In the courtyard Beauregard graves were found from the Merovingian time.
