Great Britain women's national volleyball team

The British national volleyball team of women is a selection of the best British actors, who represents the Association of British Volleyball Federation at international tournaments and international matches.

History

Only the English Association ( Volleyball England) finished in 18th place at the European Volleyball Championship in 1971. Otherwise took until 2006 no British team at one of the international competitions in part.

The FIVB approved at a meeting of the Board of Administration in May 2006, the establishment of a joint British national. The CEV recognized the scheme. The " Team Great Britain " brings together players from England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. This project is part of a series of initiatives aimed at preparing for the British on the 2012 Olympics in London.
