Gregory John Hartmayer

Gregory John Hart, OFM Conv Mayer ( born November 21, 1951 in Buffalo ) is Bishop of Savannah.

Life

Gregory John Hart Mayer joined the Order of the Friars Minor on August 15, 1970 and submitted on August 15, 1973, the solemn profession. The Bishop of Albany, Howard James Hubbard, ordained him a priest on May 5, 1979.

Pope Benedict XVI. appointed him on 19 July 2011 for the Bishop of Savannah. The Archbishop of Atlanta, Wilton Daniel Gregory, ordained him on 18 October of the same year the bishop; Co-consecrators were John Kevin Boland, Bishop Emeritus of Savannah, and Luis Rafael Zarama Pasqualetto, Auxiliary Bishop of Atlanta. As a motto he chose Pax et bonum.

On 22 April 2012, he was invested by the Grand Prior of Stattlterei U.S. Southeastern, the Archbishop of New Orleans Gregory Aymond, in the Equestrian Order of the Holy grave in Jerusalem.
