Wilton Daniel Gregory

Wilton Daniel Gregory ( born December 7, 1947 in Chicago, United States) is Archbishop of Atlanta.

Life

Wilton Daniel Gregory received on May 9, 1973 the Archbishop of Chicago, Cardinal John Cody, the sacrament of ordination to the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Chicago.

On October 18, 1983, Pope John Paul II appointed Titular Bishop of Oliva and auxiliary bishop in Chicago. The Archbishop of Chicago, Cardinal Joseph Bernardin, donated to him on 13 December of the same year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the auxiliary bishops in Chicago, Alfred Leo Abramowicz and Nevin William Hayes O. Carm.

On December 29, 1993 John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Belleville. The inauguration took place on 10 February 1994. On 9 December 2004, John Paul II appointed him Archbishop of Atlanta. The inauguration took place on 17 January 2005.
