Gregory Michael Aymond ( born November 12, 1949 in New Orleans, United States) Archbishop of New Orleans.

Life

Gregory Michael Aymond received on 10 May 1975 the Archbishop of New Orleans, Philip Hannan Matthew, the sacrament of Holy Orders.

On 19 November 1996, Pope John Paul II appointed titular bishop of Acholla and auxiliary bishop in New Orleans. The Archbishop of New Orleans, Francis Schulte, donated to him on 10 January 1997, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the Archbishop of Miami, John Clement Favalora, and Archbishop Emeritus of New Orleans, Philip Hannan Matthew. June 2, 2000, he was named Coadjutor Bishop John Paul II to Austin. The inauguration took place on 3 August of the same year. Gregory Michael Aymond was on 2 January 2001 as the successor of John Edward McCarthy, who resigned for reasons of age, Bishop of Austin. On 12 June 2009 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him. Archbishop of New Orleans. The inauguration took place on 20 August of the same year.
