Grip Inc.

Grip Inc. are a thrash metal band, founded by Dave Lombardo in 1993 after the beginning of the 1990s Slayer had left.

Band History

Dave Lombardo learned Waldemar Sorychta during the recordings for Phillip Boa project Vodoocult know. They decided to cooperate promptly and dedicated Gus Chambers, the future singer. Then another guitarist and bassist were still being sought, but most candidates did not convince. Finally, Jason Viebrooks was hired as a bass player.

Even before the recordings of their first album, the band of former members of a band was called "grip" is suing who had already resolved over ten years ago. In addition, ex - manager and ex - bassist submitted complaints, but to no avail. After Grip Inc. won the processes, the debut album Power of Inner Strength was recorded. Follow with Nemesis and Solidify two more albums before the band broke up temporarily in 1999. Only in 2004 was followed by a new and therefore last album with Incorporated.

Gus Chambers died on 13 October 2008. In first reports was assumed suicide, but the official investigation found a mistake deadly mix of drugs and alcohol.

The magazine Rock Hard announced in April 2013, the reunion of the group after it had been notified Dave Lombardo of Kerry King, that he - apparently due to contractual differences - no longer belong to the line-up from Slayer. As a new singer Casey Chaos of Amen was presented.
