Grip Lighthouse

The Grip fyr is a beacon in the West Norwegian commune Kristiansund in Møre og Romsdal Fylke. The cast iron tower stands on a foundation of stone. For beacon station also heard another boathouse and two docks. Grip fyr is situated on a rock near the fishing village of Grip, before the town Kristiansund The flat rock island grip was until 1964, with 400 inhabitants, the smallest municipality in Norway. Grip was until 1728 owned by the king, later grip of merchants of Kristiansund was administered. Today Grip is no longer permanently inhabited. The residential buildings are only used as holiday homes and receive.
