Alnes Lighthouse

The Beacon Alnes fyr is located on the north side of the west Norwegian island Godøy in the municipality of Giske in Møre og Romsdal Fylke. This beacon is in operation since 1852 and marks the entrance on the Giskesund in the nearby town of Ålesund.

In 1982 Alnes fyr was automated. Since 1993, the plant is also used as a cultural center of the community and region. Bridge connections and undersea tunnel to Ålesund Airport Vigra on the island and the town of Ålesund make Alnes fyr easily accessible for tourists and residents of the region. In summer, the beacon is therefore a popular destination.
