Grupa LOTOS
Grupa Lotos ( LOTOS ) is a publicly traded company from Poland based in Gdańsk. The company is listed on the financial index WIG 20 of the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
By 2 June 2003, the company operated under Refinery of Gdansk SA, which is one of the main activities of the group expresses: the operation of the second largest refinery in Poland, which is located in Gdansk. In addition, LOTOS operates three small refineries in southern Poland ( Czechowice Refinery SA, Refinery Nafty Glimar SA and Rafineria Jasło SA).
For sales of petroleum products Grupa LOTOS has about 400 service stations in Poland, of which 136 are company-owned. The medium term, LOTOS, this number increased to 500 in order to achieve 10 % market share.
The subsidiary LOTOS Oil SA is a leading supplier of lubricants in Poland, which are sold under the brand names LOTOS and TURDUS.
Grupa LOTOS currently seeks an upstream business to build up to 69 % of the company PPiEZRiG Petrobaltic SA were taken in February 2005.
In recent years, there have been reports of a possible merger with PKN Orlen, the second Polish oil company. Currently (March 2008 ), this plan is not followed up by the Polish government. The Polish state is the majority shareholder of Grupa LOTOS and minority shareholder of PKN Orlen.
