Guadalajara International Film Festival
The Festival Internacional de Cine en Guadalajara is the largest and most important film festival in Mexico. It takes place every year since 1986 in March in the city of Guadalajara instead. The festival has a focus on the Mexican and Latin American film, films, documentaries, short films and children's films. Prizes will be awarded by an international jury, but with the Festival Internacional de Cine en Guadalajara has no accreditation by the Fédération Internationale des Associations de Producteurs de Films. The films are shown here also held at various places in the city under the open sky. The Film Festival of Guadalajara had very end of the 1980s, an important function for the Mexican film because it supported the careers of filmmakers such as Arturo Ripstein, María Félix Jaime Humberto Hermosillo and nudged and again. Apart from the official prices of the Premio del Público, the Premio Mezcal, a FIPRESCI Prize and the Premio Feisal also be awarded. Since 2003, the Premio de Plata Mayahuel is awarded to an outstanding personality of the Mexican film, since 2007, there is the Premio Guadalajara, with a Latin American personality is honored that has influenced the international film.
