The Guadalupe Peak (also listed as El Capitan peak or peak signal ) is with 2667 m the highest mountain of Texas and the Guadalupe Mountains of the same name.

Location

It is located in the Guadalupe Mountains National Park on the border of the south-eastern part of New Mexico and western Texas. The mountain is about 140 kms east of El Paso and about 80 km southwest of Carlsbad, New Mexico. There are no shelters on the mountain, the only lodge in the area is the Visitor Center, which provides no overnight accommodations. The ascent can either perform in a day, or one spends the night in tents brought. On a round trip is from a parking lot from the summit was also reached.
