Guandong

Guandong (Chinese关 东/关 东, Pinyin Guandong, W.-G. Kuan- ing ) means " East of the Shanhai Pass " and thus describes the Chinese throughout the Northeast China. The term is now generally used to describe the cultural area northeast China, has no administrative significance and is also geographically not completely well defined. While the provinces of Liaoning, Jilin and Heilongjiang are clearly " Guangdong ", the membership of Chifeng, Tongliao, Hulun Buir Hinggan and is already less clear. During the Qing Dynasty including Outer Manchuria was expected to " Guandong ".
