Guarujá Open

The ATP tournament of Guarujá ( officially Guarujá Open) is a former men's tennis tournament, which was played from 1982 to 1992 in Guaruja in Brazil. The first edition was still on carpeting instead, but already from 1982 was played on clay courts; 1983 was chosen outdoor hard courts as a base. The tournament was initially part of the Grand Prix Tennis Tour, but was demoted in the 1982 season for a year at a Challenger event. Finally, the event was part of the ATP World Series, the predecessor series on the ATP World Tour 250

During the 1991 season, another tournament was held in Guarujá addition to the Guarujá Open, which were held in February, held in November, the Philips Open. This event was also played on outdoor hard courts. The last host the Guarujá Open in 1992, then took over the appointment of Philips Open.

In the tournament, local players were particularly successful, only twice in the tournament's history, there was a final without Brazilian participation.
