Guity Novin

Guity Novin (* April 21, 1944 in Kermanshah, Iran; born Navran ) is a Canadian painter and sculptor. Currently she lives and works in Vancouver and Toronto.

Life

Novin was born in Kermanshah in 1944. In 1970 she graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts of Farabi University in Tehran. Your pictures were in the " Salon d ' autumn ' issued in Paris. In 1974 she moved to The Hague in Holland to study at the " voor Vrije Academy of Fine Arts ". Your pictures were exhibited at the Galerie Noordeinde. In 1976 she moved to Manchester in England, where her paintings were exhibited in 1978 in the Didsbury Library. In 1979, she was selected by a jury for the ECA exhibition at the National Theatre in London. In 1980 she emigrated to Canada. She lived from 1979 to 1983 in Kingston, Ontario, from 1983 to 1984 in Montreal and from 1984 to 1996 in Ottawa. Finally, she moved to Vancouver in British Columbia. Your pictures were exhibited in the Gallery in Kingston Brock Street in Montreal in the Sherbrooks Gallery in Ottawa in the Artex and Trillium galleries, in Toronto in the Christopher Hughes Gallery in Vancouver and in the Guthenham gallery. In 2001, she exhibits at Le Carnaval de La unicorn. She is a member of the National Committee of Artists of UNESCO.

Graphic

Guity Novin worked as a graphic designer in the 1960s and the 1970s, she designed in Iran covers for magazines such as Negin and Zaman and Publications of the Free Cinema of Iran. The posters for the First International Film Festival in Tehran come from her. In Ottawa, her drawings were published in the 1980s in the quarterly magazine published feminist Breaking the Silence.
