Guðmundur Hrafnkelsson

Guðmundur Hrafnkelsson (* January 22, 1965 ) is a former Icelandic handball player.

Career

Guðmundur Hrafnkelsson played in his home at Breiðabliks, FH and Valur Reykjavík. In 1999, the 1.90 -meter handball goalkeeper for the German Bundesliga Up HSG Nordhorn, with which he participated in the 2000 /01 season at the Final Four of the DHB Cup. In 2001 he was at the Italian club Papillon Coversano between the posts, with whom he played in the EHF Cup and European Cup winner in 2003 and won the championship. He then returned to Germany, where he joined the SG Kronau / Östringen joined, with the descent at the end of the season 2003/ 04 in the second handball league. After the following season that succeeded the immediate resurgence, he went back to Iceland. There he signed a two -year contract with Afturelding.

Guðmundur Hrafnkelsson took part in the Olympic Games with the Icelandic national team in 1988, 1992 and 2004. He played 407 internationals for Iceland and is the goalkeeper with most international appearances for indoor handball as well as to Jackson Richardson (417 inserts for France) the world's only handball players with more than 400 international appearances.
