Gunship (video game)

Gunship is a flight simulation by Arnold Hendrick and Andy Hollis, which was released in 1986 for the Commodore 64, Apple II, Atari ST, and DOS. The game has won the Origins Award for computer games for the best graphics.

There were other ports for ZX Spectrum (1987) Amstrad CPC ( 1987), Amiga ( 1988) and MSX2 (1989 )

As a helicopter pilot of an AH- 64 Apache, the player must provide ( East and Third World War in Europe, Vietnam, Nicaragua, Middle ) demonstrate his flying skills in four different scenarios.

Gunship was at its time the most complex simulation that was available on the former computer systems.

Gunship 2000

In 1991, the successor Gunship 2000 for the PC ( MS -DOS), 1993, the conversion for the "Classic " was released - Amiga and one year later a graphically revamped version for Amiga 1200 and CD ³ ². Compared to its predecessor, it was possible to fly different helicopters during the game and with increasing rank also to command several helicopters. The Gunship 2000 Islands & Ice Expansion Pack, the additional maps and two new areas ( Antarctica and the Philippines ) was released for the PC version.
