Gunsmoke
Gunsmoke (AKA Gunsmoke ) is an American Western television series that aired from 1955 to 1975 by CBS. In 1967, she appeared on German television.
Characters
The protagonist was Matt Dillon, 1873 Marshal of Dodge City, Kansas, who was played by James Arness. From the mid- 1960s, the actor and country singer Ken Curtis was in the role of Sheriff Deputy Festus Haggen as a sidekick to do so. He lent in the German dubbed version Gerd Duwner his voice. From 1962 to 1965 Burt Reynolds starred in 50 episodes of the young blacksmith Quint Asper.
Initially conceived as a radio show, which was sent from 1952 to 1961, was then made of the stuff a television series. Instead of the radio announcer William Conrad wanted to undertake for the television version of John Wayne as a performer of Matt Dillon. The proposed instead his friend and fellow actor James Arness. In the years 1955-1975 635 episodes have been made, from 1966 in color. This is Gunsmoke, the longest-lived Western series of all time. After completion of the series of five movies were filmed for television between 1987 and 1994.
In Germany episodes have been shown so far only 228 of a total of 635, mainly almost all colored episodes, which were broadcast in the USA from 17 September 1966. Of the older black and white episodes to date only a few have been sent. The German television aired from 1967 to 1973 a total of 75 episodes from, including ten in black and white. Another 70 premieres followed from 1977 to 1983 on ZDF. The Sat.1 showed from 1989 to 1991 a further 76 episodes that ran last seven previously unsent consequences in 1997 to one cable.
