Guntersblum (Verbandsgemeinde)

The community association Gunter Blum is an administrative unit in the form of a local authority in the Mainz-Bingen district in Rhineland- Palatinate. The municipality consists of nine independent local churches. The head office is located in the eponymous municipality Guntersblum. On 1 July 2014, the municipality Guntersblum is incorporated into the municipality Nierstein - Oppenheim. This creates the new community association Rhein- Selz.

History
The community association Guntersblum was newly formed by the Thirteenth state law on administrative simplification in the land of Rhineland -Palatinate from 1 March 1972. The community Dorn Durkheim was but at this time the Alzey-Worms district where only 16 April 1974 saw the change in the Mainz-Bingen district.

The association council Guntersblum consists of 24 volunteer council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 in a personalized proportional representation, and the full-time mayor as chairman.

Traffic
The community association Guntersblum lies in the area of the Rhein -Nahe - transport network. Through them, the railroad Mainz- Ludwigshafen runs. On Guntersblum train station stops every hour, weekdays mostly every half hour, the regional train line RB 44 DB Regio AG. Here is connected to the two nearest major metropolitan Rhine- Main and Rhine- Neckar.
After Worms also performs a bus, line 432, the BRN ( bus Rhein -Neckar ). It replaces the disused since 1969 Altrhein web over Gimbsheim, calibration and Hamm am Rhein. Also she drives, similar to the RB 44, Monday to Friday every half hour on weekends, mostly hourly to two hourly.
Furthermore, past the newly built and inaugurated in December 2007, Federal Highway 9 runs to Gunter Blum and Ludwig height in the section to Nierstein and on to Mainz.
Future
As part of local government reform in the state of Rhineland -Palatinate, the municipality Guntersblum is incorporated into the municipality Nierstein - Oppenheim. The reason may include, but for the state of Rhineland -Palatinate rather small number of inhabitants and the consequent avoidable administrative costs. The official business of the new municipality with the name " community association Rhein- Selz " is scheduled to begin on 1 July 2014. First, the new municipality in Leininger castle is in Guntersblum have a branch office. The new community association Rhein- Selz with around 40,000 citizens should be one of the largest unitary councils in Rhineland -Palatinate.
On 13 December 2013, the factions of the SPD Rhineland-Palatinate and of 90/The Greens voted in Rhineland-Palatinate Landtag of Rhineland- Palatinate for a forced merger of the two unitary councils after a voluntary merger failed. The Group of the CDU Rhineland -Palatinate voted against the merger.
