Coat of arms

The coat of arms shows in black over blue split shields above a growing, rotbewehrten and crowned, golden lion, down a golden fountain basin with silver sparkling water. Behind it is a left overhead, golden crosier.

The coat of arms justification is based on the following considerations: Eimsheim belonged since 1565 to the Napoleonic period to Electoral Palatinate, therefore in the upper half of the coat of arms kurpfälzische lion. The Catholic church is dedicated to Saint Pirmin. This saint appears, therefore, in the 1546 detectable court seal of Eimsheim.

A second court seal with the same coat of arms dates from 1769. Holy in full figure appears on both seals as a bishop with miter and with a crook in his hand. In addition to the saints we see on the ground a little fountain basin with a water bubble. This motif recalls that St. Pirmin with his crosier, a source let bubble up, according to legend, whose water is said to have eyes and rheumatism sufferers healed. This should be done on the island of Reichenau in Lake Constance - in addition to the expulsion of poisonous snakes - on which he indeed founded the famous monastery. The 753 in Hornbach at Zweibrücken - his last place of activity - deceased saint was one of the great missionaries in West Germany, in the Middle Rhine area, he rarely appears as a patron. That he, this is for a church in Eimsheim be explained by the former belonging to the place Palatinate, where he frequently makes its appearance. By the way, has always been gushing into Eimsheim sources on slopes and in many courts. Until 1906 also served ten local private wells the population with water.
