Dalheim is a municipality in the district Mainz -Bingen, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Nierstein - Oppenheim, has its administrative headquarters in the town of Oppenheim.

Geographical location

The community is located between Mainz and Worms, and is a term coined by the Agriculture Location. The wine is in the Rheinhessen wine region.

The Jewish community

In Dalheim was a small Jewish community in the 19th century. 1861, the maximum number of 30 Jewish inhabitants were counted. 1847 a synagogue is called the first time. She was raped in July 1890 by unknown assailants, and probably closed soon after. Most Jewish residents were by then already moved or migrated to the cities. A small, insider in the summer of 1858 and to this day surviving Jewish cemetery is today the only reminder of the Jewish history.
