Mommenheim
Mommenheim is a municipality in the district Mainz -Bingen, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Nierstein - Oppenheim, has its administrative headquarters in the town of Oppenheim.

The wine is between Mainz and Worms in Rheinhessen.
History
Mommenheim appears in records for the first time in the year 766, and often during the 8th century in donations to the monastery of Lorsch. The emerging literature in the year 764 is not correct, as a deed of gift of 765, where the hl. Nazario and abbot of Lorsch Gundeland mentioned. Both, however, were in this year not yet in Lorsch.
According to Karl Johann Brilmayer there were already 764 for a name for the location in Wormsgau Mommenheim: Momenheim ( 764 ) Mumenheim ( 765 ) Mominheim ( 766 ) Mumonheimo ( 771 ) Muomomheim ( 812) Monunnheim ( 867 ) Muminheim ( 1091 ) Mumme Home ( 1145 ), Momenheim ( 1485 ) and Mommernheim ( 1519).

The local council in Mommenheim consists of 20 council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 of personalized proportional representation, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Coat of arms
The coat of arms description reads: "Right on red field a Wolfsangel and left on a blue field the old Wheel of Mainz ".
Mommenheim introduced as early as the 17th century a Wolf Angel in the seal. The municipality received on 28 June 1972, the Home Office Rhineland -Palatinate permission, the " Wheel of Mainz " add.

Regular events
On the third weekend in September is always organized a notch in Mommenheim. It is organized by the notch club. Two weeks earlier, there are always on the festival grounds, the summer solstice fire of MKV ( Carnival Association ). At each leap year the MKV organizing a New Year's Eve ball. The regional line 660 of bus and coach transport Rhein-Nahe offers weekdays twice every hour, on weekends hourly connections to Mainz Hbf and every hour on weekdays, on weekends every two hours to Alzey station.
