Aspisheim

Aspisheim is a municipality in the district Mainz -Bingen, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Sprendlingen gene Ingen, which has its headquarters in the town of Sprendlingen.

Geography

History

The place was first mentioned 767.

By the end of the 18th century Aspisheim belonged to Electoral Palatinate. During the so-called French period (1794-1814) the town belonged to the canton Oberingelheim in the department of Thunder Mountain. Because of the Congress of Vienna (1815 ) agreements which later called Rheinhessen region in 1816 to the Grand Duchy of Hesse ( from 1918 People's State of Hesse ), and was until 1945 the province of Rheinhessen.
