Grolsheim

Grolsheim is a municipality in the district Mainz -Bingen, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Sprendlingen gene Ingen, which has its headquarters in the town of Sprendlingen.

Geography

History

The place was first mentioned in the year 772 as " Grandfesheim " in a deed to the Lorsch Abbey. Other early place names were " Graulfesheim " ( 782 ) and " Graolfesheim " ( 801).
