Oberheimbach

Oberheimbach is a municipality in the district Mainz -Bingen, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the community association Rhein-Nahe, which has its headquarters in the town of Bingen am Rhein.

Geography

Oberheimbach is between Koblenz and Bad Kreuznach in the valley of the home stream, about two kilometers from Niederheimbach. To Oberheimbach includes the residential space bar mill.

History

Heimbach was first mentioned in a document dated 14 June 983, the Emperor Otto II the Archbishop of Mainz Willigis his rights under the spell of Bingen confirmed.

Parish council

Oberheimbach is characterized by winegrowing and bestockter with 59 hectares of vineyards to Boppard (65 hectares) largest producers of the Middle Rhine.

Traffic

• At the federal highway 9, which connects Mainz, Koblenz, there are in a northeasterly direction for about 2 km.
• The Federal Highway 61 is reached after approximately 15 km at the junction Rheinboellen.
• The nearest train station is in Niederheimbach on the railway line Mainz - Koblenz.
