Dienheim

Dienheim is a municipality in the district Mainz -Bingen, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Nierstein - Oppenheim, has its administrative headquarters in the town of Oppenheim.

History

Dienheim is first mentioned in the 8th century. The village came during the time of Charlemagne to the abbey of Fulda. Later, it came as Empire Pawn in the possession of the Counts Palatine of the Rhine.

Since the beginning of the 13th century, the barons of Dienheim are attested, which were the knight Canton Upper Rhine assigned during the period from the 16th to the 18th century the Rhenish knights circle.
