Gustavo Augusto Poyet Domínguez ( * November 15, 1967 in Montevideo) is a Uruguayan football coach and former player.

Playing career

Association

Poyet, son of Olympian in basketball in 1960 and 1964 Washington Poyet played, including for Real Zaragoza in the Primera División (239 Spiele/63 goals) as well as for Chelsea (105 /36) and Tottenham Hotspur (82 /18) in the Premier League. With Real Zaragoza and FC Chelsea, he won the European Cup Winners' Cup (1995 and 1998).

National

Poyet took part with the Uruguayan U -20 team at the U-20 South American Championship in 1987, finished fourth in Uruguay.

In addition, he completed between July 13, 1993 to April 26, 2000 26 caps for the senior national team of Uruguay, scoring three goals. His greatest success as a national team was winning the Copa America 1995.

A trainer

Gustavo Poyet was assistant coach since the end of 2006 the English third division side Leeds United.
