Guy Davis (comics)

Guy Davis (born 1966 ) is an American comic book artist, primarily known for his work on Sandman Mystery Theatre and various Hellboy - related titles. He also worked for various White Wolf, Inc. books and created his own series The Nevermen & The Marquis.

Raised in Michigan artist Guy Davis has sketched and painted as long as he can remember. He tried at first to cartoons that were published in the newspaper of his hometown during his high school years. After he had completed his studies, he decided to continue with comics.

In 1984, he created an ironic space opera Quonto of the Star Corps for the short-run fanzine Fantastic Fanzine. Quonto has been forgotten, but the fanzine was later Arrow Comics and led to work on the comic book series The Realm. After a few years at Arrow Comics, brought him his work on The Realm to Caliber Press and his first ( and legally ) own series, the Harvey Award nominated Baker Street. Baker Street led him to DC / Vertigo and there to work on Sandman Mystery Theatre with Matt Wagner and Steven T. Seagle. Since then he has worked for most major comic book publishers and created illustrations for the White Wolf role-playing game series. Currently illustrates Guy Mike Mignola's ongoing BPRD series, the series The Zombies That Ate The World hurlant for Métal and performs its own series The Marquis for Oni Press on.

Awards

He was honored in 1997 for Starman and 2004 for Unstable Molecules with an Eisner Award.
