Guys with Kids

Guys with Kids is an American comedy series from Jimmy Fallon, Charlie Grandy and Amy Ozols about three grown men who raise together with their partners their babies in a modern environment. It was produced by Universal Television in association with Charlie Grandy Productions for the U.S. television network NBC and includes a season with 17 episodes. The first broadcast in the United States took place on 12 September 2012 at NBC, while the German -language broadcasting on September 15, 2013 began at Comedy Central Germany.

Action

Guys with Kids is about three neighbors and friends in their thirties who are all just become a father, even though they themselves are still quite childish. The successful lawyer Chris is recently divorced and has therefore despite his great self-confidence problems towards women. In addition, he shares custody of his nine -month-old son with his ex Gary, a former successful real estate broker and now a full- time father of four children, takes home the domestic tasks. Production

A few days after the signing of Courtney Henggeler it was end of March 2012 replaced by Sara Rue. In May 2012, NBC announced under the title Guys with Kids a first season with 13 episodes in order. A month later, Sara Rue was in turn replaced by Erinn Hayes as Rue's role in the series Malibu Country of ABC took precedence.

After the NBC had increased in November 2012, the number of episode of the first season from 13 to 17, he gave in May 2013, the setting of the series known.

In Germany the free channels Comedy Central series showed up on the Christmas episode of 15 September to 1 December 2013. These celebrated its premiere in Germany on 17 February 2014 VIVA.

Reception

The series received generally negative criticism, and has in a Metacritic Metascore of 38/100 based on 25 reviews. One of the few good reviews came from Glenn Garvin of the Miami Herald, who wrote that " Guys with kids a perfect combination of witty dialogue and slapstick " possess. Matt Zoller Seitz wrote of the New York magazine that he " would expect Guys with kids to hate, his hostility [but] faded after about five minutes it became clear that the show was not terrible ." The criticism in Time magazine James Poniewozik of judged the series as " a cheap, stale, stereotyped addicted sitcom where no one, male or female, good or particularly sympathetic comes over, except maybe the babies ."

The NAACP Image Awards 2013 Anthony Anderson was nominated for Best Actor in a Comedy Series. The series received at the People's Choice Awards 2013 Nomination for Best New Comedy Series, but lost final against another comedy series from NBC, The New Normal.
