The Fragrant fragrant orchid ( Gymnadenia odoratissima ) is a species of the genus Handel Wurzen ( Gymnadenia ) and belongs to the family of orchid family ( Orchidaceae).

Description

The perennial herbaceous plant is a Geophyt with two palmate divided tubers. She reaches stature heights from 15 to 30 cm. The leaves are linear. It is characterized by intense vanilla -like fragrant flowers. The spur is 4-6 mm long, shorter than the ovary and horizontal to slightly bent downward. The perianth is white to purple.

Bloom time is from June to August.

Occurrence

In Austria, this species is scattered in all provinces ( missing in Vienna and Burgenland) of the montane to subalpine (downhill ) Height stage occurring.

Endangered in the area of the Bohemian Massif and the Pannonian area.

The ever- growing plant species preferred over lime as locations Magerrasen, pine forests, wetlands and wet meadows, flat and moors.

Special

The Fragrant Händelwurz forms hybrids with the mosquito Händelwurz ( Gymnadenia conopsea ), the ordinary sprouts ( Nigritella rhellicani ) and ( very rarely) with the White Höswurz ( Pseudorchis albida ).
