Ha Seung-jin
Ha Seung -jin (* August 4, 1985 in Seoul) is a South Korean basketball player. He is 2.21 meters tall, weighs 139 kg and played on the position center includes in the NBA for the Portland Trail Blazers and the Milwaukee Bucks. He currently plays for Jeonju KCC in the South Korean league.
Family
His father Dong -ki was a member of the Korean national basketball team that reached the second place in Bangkok at the Asian Games of 1978. His sister, Ha Eun -joo is also a professional basketball player. The 2.05 -meter - wide center player should play in the WNBA with the Los Angeles Sparks in 2006 actually. However, they still had to fulfill a contract with the Japanese team Chanson Cosmetics and could not accept this offer.
Playing career
Originally Ha Drafts 2004 was selected in the second round of the NBA by the Portland Trail Blazers at 46th place.
He previously played for the Samil Commercial High School and he attended the Yonsei University. He was the driving force during Samils 22 - game winning streak during 2003. Among other things, won the High School, the National Sports Festival Tournament in Jeju City in November 2003. The Yonsei University won the Korean college title and made an average of 12, 6 points, 8.6 rebounds and 1.6 blocked throws in seven games.
He became the first Korean player in the NBA. He had his best game on 20 April 2005 against the Los Angeles Lakers. He scored 13 points and hit six of his seven throws from the field.
Before he came to the NBA during the 2004-05 season, he played for the Portland Reign of the American Basketball Association. However, he hardly got time use at the Blazers and in 2006 was even abschoben to the NBA Development League team Fort Worth Flyers, but where he did not play very much. After just one preseason game in the jersey of Bucks, in which he scored 4 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists, he was released on 28 October again by the team from Milwaukee.
December 31, 2006 Ha received a contract with the Anaheim Arsenal in the NBA Development League. In the 2006-07 season he scored in 26 games for the Californians 2.7 points, 2.8 rebounds and 0.38 blocks per game.
At the moment, Ha plays professional basketball in the South Korean KBL ( Korean Basketball League) for the team KCC Jeonju, with whom he was in 2009 and 2011 KBL champions.
National
Ha Seung -jin played as a member of the South Korean junior national team at the Junior World Championships in 2003 and scored an average of 11.0 points, 9.3 rebounds and 1.9 blocked throws in 19.2 minutes per game. He also plays for the South Korean senior national basketball team and took, among others, participated in the FIBA Asia Championship 2007, where he was able to lead South Korea for the bronze medal. On average, he scored 17.3 points and 9.1 rebounds.
