Habib Ali al-Jifri

Habib Ali Zain al - Abidin al - Dschifri (Arabic علي الجفري, ʿ Alī al - DMG Ǧifrī; born April 20, 1971 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia) is the founder and director of the Tabah Foundation ( 2005), United Arab Emirates. He is a supporter of Ba'Alawi - Sufi order, which follows the tradition of schafi'itischen law school of Sunnis. He received his education in Hadramaut, studied in Saana and Tarim in Yemen. He was associate dean of Dar al - Mustafa in Tarim 2002. Since 2007 he is a member of the Royal Aal al - Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought in Amman, Jordan.

He was one of the 138 signatories of the open letter A Common Word between Us and You (English A Common Word Between Us and You), the personalities of Islam to "leaders of Christian churches everywhere" (English " Leaders of Christian Churches, everywhere ... " ) submitted (13 October 2007).

In 2008 he was one of the delegation members of the 2nd Seminar of the Catholic-Muslim Forum ( Catholic - Muslim Forum ).

2009 al - Dschifri was listed on the 37th place of the 500 most influential Muslims of the Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Center for Muslim- Christian Understanding at Georgetown University and the Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre of Jordan.
