HÃ¥kan Nyblom

Håkan Erik Nyblom (* November 26, 1981 in Vaasa, Ostrobothnia, Finland ) is a Danish wrestler. He won medals at World and European Championships.

Career

Håkan Nyblom comes from a Ringer family. His twin brother Anders is one of the Danish top wrestlers. Both brothers specialized in the Greco- Roman style. Håkan Nyblom belongs to the Ringer Club Brydeklubb Herning, where he is coached by Jarek Pzyara for several years. At a size of 1.60 meters, he struggled at first flyweight, bantamweight and then for several years he wrestles now at featherweight. In his youth he learned the trade of a carpenter. He is also well known in the German Ringer circles, because he went to the starting line for the SV Siegfried Hallbergmoos in the Bundesliga.

Håkan Nyblom since 1999 proceeds already at junior level but even at senior level in international championships at the start. His successes held initially in limits. But in 2001 he won at the Junior World Championships in Tashkent flyweight an excellent 4th place and just narrowly missed a medal. In the European Championship 2002 in Seinäjoki, he finished a good sixth place in the bantamweight.

At the World Championship 2003 in Créteil he reached with three victories in the bantamweight 8th place and thus qualified for participation in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. There he went again bantamweight at the start. He lost his first fight against Artiom Kiouregian from Greece, but fought his way with victories over Sheng Jiang, China and uranium Khalilov, Kyrgyzstan again the 8th Place.

In 2008 Håkan Nyblom succeeded at the European Championships in Tampere featherweight with wins over Dimitri Alenski, Belarus, Tonimir Sokol, Croatia and Svajunas Adomaitis, Lithuania, losing to Jarkko Ala- Huikku, Finland and another victory over Sebastien Hidalgo, France with the bronze medal for the first time a medal at an international championship. For a start in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, but this success was not enough. In the following qualifiers he failed to fight for the ticket to Beijing.

The greatest success in his career scored Håkan Nyblom then at the 2009 World Championships in Herning / Denmark. In featherweight he struggled with wins over Peter Modos, Hungary, Francisco Encarnacion, Dominican Republic and Wugar Ragimow, Ukraine to the semifinals, where he lost to the multiple world champion Hamid Soryan Reihanpour from Iran. In the fight for a world championship bronze medal he defeated then Erhan Karakus from Turkey.

In 2010 Håkan Nyblom was able to complete no start because of a persistent shoulder injury.
