Halbert White
Halbert Lynn White, Jr. ( born November 19, 1950 in Kansas City, † 31 March 2012) was an American economist.
Life and work
White studied at Princeton University and received there in 1972 as a Valedictorian ( top of his class ) Baccalaureus Artium his (AB) with summa cum laude. In 1976 he was at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for Ph.D. doctorate. He was a professor of economics at the University of California, San Diego.
White dealt with econometrics, statistics, artificial neural networks, forecasting and financial markets. The White test is named after him.
