Econometric Society
The Econometric Society ( German Econometric Society ) is an international company that is committed to the advancement of theoretical economics prescribed in its relation to statistics and mathematics. It publishes periodicals in addition to the Econometrica, Quantitative Economics and Theoretical Economics, a monograph series (since 1983) and organizes scientific conferences.
The company was founded in 1930 on the initiative of Irving Fisher and Ragnar Frisch. The first meeting was held on December 29, 1930 in Cleveland, Ohio held the first scientific meetings in September 1931 at the University of Lausanne and in December 1931 in Washington, DC Since 1933, the journal Econometrica is published.
65 of the previous 74 Nobel laureates in economics belonged to the society (as of 2013).
