Halsnæs Municipality
Halsnæs municipality is a Danish municipality in the Capital Region. Covering an area of 121.90 km ² there (as of 1 January 2013) live 30 803 inhabitants. The name comes from the Halsnæs Halsnæs peninsula in the western part of the municipality.
The municipality was created in the municipal reform on 1 January 2007 from the merger of three independent municipalities Frederiksværk and Hundested the new Frederiksværk - Hundested municipality. This was renamed on 1 January 2008 in Halsnæs municipality.

A The former municipalities center Frederiksværk now stretches also over the parishes Kregme, Melby and Vinderød.

Geography
The Halsnæs municipality covers the western part of the largest inland lake in Denmark, the Arresø, and the 71 acre island Hesselø Skagerrak, about 30 km north- west of Hundested.
