Hamat Bah

Hamat Bah is a Gambian Ngai Kumba politician and leader of the Party National Reconciliation Party ( NRP).

In the presidential elections of 18 October 2001, it reached 7.8 percent of votes in third place. In January 2005, the NRP alliance with four other opposition parties to the National Alliance for Democracy and Development ( NADD ).

Soon after the NADD was registered as a party, the Supreme Court revoked Bah seat in the National Assembly, he had won the region for the District of Upper Saloum in the Central River 2002. This seat was assigned to two parties simultaneously. In a special election, which took place in June 2005, he lost his seat to a member of the ruling Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation party and Construction (APRC ).

On 15 November 2005 Bah was arrested with two other party officials of the NADD ( Halifa Sallah of the People's Democratic Organisation for Independence and Socialism ( PDOIS ) and Omar Jallow from the Progressive People's Party (PPP ) ). They were accused of subversion.
